Cryptic crossword No 2,478

There were some very neat ones here - 16a (top def!), also liked 15a, 21a, 25a and 1d, 14d & 23d. However, there were a few I could not parse (possibly GK I lack), it would be helpful if you turned on your annotated solutions. Thanks!
