Cryptic crossword No 1,001

Hi Kinksfan, thanks for the puzzle, which I enjoyed. There are some very nice clues in this and plenty of nice ideas. My favourites were 19a 27a 9d and 18d. Look forward to more. There are also a few clues, I think, where the cryptic grammar could be tightened to make your instructions more precise and clear. But I wonder if you have any annotations available? It’s useful as a check for solvers in case I’ve missed anything when parsing. But as I’ve interpreted things, a few spoilers follow…

Thanks for the puzzle Kinksfan, that was fun. I particularly liked 1a (clean and smooth), 10a (smooth), 24a (neat), 1d (fun), 2d (nice surface), 6d (cute idea, almost there) and 7d (simple and cute) - a lot of your other clues were almost there and Guava has done a good job of describing a few areas you could focus on.
