Cryptic crossword No 1,035

Nice stuff moobius, mostly gentle fare but with some tougher ones (23a, 19d) to be filled in at the end. Favourites included 2d, 6d, 11d (love this one!) and 21d.

I echo TPG (great contest entry, congrats btw) - a good range of difficulties with some toughies. A lot of creative defs and neat constructions too, particularly 1a (neat and smooth), 9a (likewise), 13a (likewise), 14a (fun), 18a (really enjoyed this, "animal with trunk" particularly cute), 2d (clean), 11d (fun), 19d (lol at the surface), 22d (nice def), 22d (neat) and 25d (fun) - thanks!

I have been slow in catching up on MyC, moobs, and nearly missed this one as so much has been posted. But seeing you pop up on mine inspired me to give this a go. And I'm glad I did. One of your best imho. I really enjoyed it, start to finish. Chewy enough to exercise the mind, plenty of fun and variety. Faves include: 9a, 13a, 24a (lol), 29a, 2d, 6d, 8d, 11d (COTD!), 17d and 19d (v funny). Really enjoyable. Thanks. PM
