Cryptic crossword No 109

Hello there! This is my very first cryptic crossword so I'm rather excited...please do give it a bash and let me know what you think!

I enjoyed this. There are some really good clues, for example 9a, 13a, 25a, 8d, 21d. You have a couple of obscure words at 11a and 19d and play fair with the solver with clear wordplay. 23a is weak because the anagram fodder and the solution are too similar, and the repetition of Po (the setter’s standby!) in 7a and 11a is unfortunate. The definition in 7a is not quite accurate. But really, for a first outing this is a pretty creditable effort. More, please.

Well done for getting to this point, fring - no mean feat. The wordplay here all felt pretty sound to me. The surfaces though read a bit odd to me. I felt the most successful were those that were able to evoke something, particularly 9a.
