Please be gentle with this first effort...I have made some errors...particularly with 16dn. Cheers.

I think this was on the whole a good first effort, certainly better than my first stab! My favourite was 15D. 10 was good, but it may be that setters with more experience than me might query the exact details of the definition. A couple of the words were new to me - 19A and 20A but that's not unusual.

Welcome to MyCrossword nanacat and hoping to see more of your work here as time goes on. I particularly enjoyed 8a, 13a, 2d, 15d & 17d in this grid. I’m assuming your mention of errors refers to the automatic enumeration in a couple of clues. Once published it’s too late to change that unfortunately, but it is possible after publishing to switch on the ‘annotated solutions’, which makes your ‘explanations’ available to help us give better feedback, knowing just what you intend. More in reply…

Thanks so much for the positive and very helpful feedback. My second effort is in the works!

Thank you, nanacat. As others have said, a pretty good first effort; my favourites were 6a, 2d, 4d, 7d (having found the explanation by looking in Chambers - delightful!), 15d and above all the magnificent 10a. A few clues, I thought, were unsound, largely because the definitions were too vague so that the solver couldn't be sure the solution was correct. Others worked, in that they made the solution clear, but had technical issues. But I, too, will look forward to your next. Spoilers in reply.

Welcome to the site, nanacat. That is a nice first attempt with plenty of good ideas and an eye for a surface which is something I put considerable store by. (And I know a preposition is not something I should end a sentence with!) Ticks from me for 8a, 13a, 21a, 1d and 17d. Spoilers in Reply. Thanks. PM
