Cryptic crossword No 1,648

Thanks Maya. That was fun, in a stretchy kind of way. Particularly enjoyed 9a, 20a, 24a, 3d, 13d among others. Wasn’t too hard to work out the key letter, but still challenging to solve - some clues more so. Some I still can’t parse, so switching on annotated solutions would help in formulating any specific feedback.

This kind of conceptual puzzle is right up my street and I enjoyed it! Lots of good clues but the real star is the gridfill. Like Ozpiper I'd be interested in seeing the annotated solutions though, as I also have a handful unparsed (and one that I'm not sure *quite* works) but will reserve further comment until I've confirmed the explanations! Thanks.

Also truly impressed by this fill, and enjoyed the combination of it's ambition and accessibility. I too would love to see annotations to help parse the last couple!
