Cryptic crossword No 166

This gets off to an unfortunate start with a typo in 1a (surely, it should be Crikey!) but more than makes up for it with some cracking clues – I liked 8a, 12a, 13a, 24a, 8d, and 18a and 23 are really clever. 2d works, but just feels a bit wordy. 15d isn’t a familiar phrase, but I note that WordWeb gives it, and your wordplay is very clear so I think you play fair with the solver.
