Cryptic crossword No 169

Thanks Gradgrind, I enjoyed this a lot - though needed some help from the Nina to get some of the more obscure (to me!) words. I liked 9a, 11a, 1d and 19d but my favourite was 6d for the nice misdirection.

Thanks for sharing this - what a wonderful gift! I’m sure it was appreciated. Do the names featured in the clues have significance too? The Nina helped me get over the line in good time despite some (understandably) obscure answers that were all fairly clued. There are a couple elsewhere I can’t fully parse. My favourites are 9a, 11a, and the superb 13a!
