Cryptic crossword No 1,786

Thanks DG and congratulations on the milestone. A mostly tractable grid, although I struggled in the NW corner and had to resort to a couple of reveals to make progress. I particularly enjoyed 12a, 26a, 1d, 4d, 9d among others. A couple of nhos for me (e.g. 14a), but the wordplay was clear enough to enable me to solve correctly. I’ll refrain from any nitpicking on such an important occasion, although I’m not sure if there are nits that I would pick if I were to… Thanks again.
