Cryptic crossword No 1,855

Welcome to MyCrossword Disco and congratulations on your debut puzzle. There’s some good stuff here. I particularly appreciated 7a, 12a, 13a, 22a, 5d, 8d, 13d. Some others could do with a bit of work, but we’re all learning here. I’m on the move at present, but will add some more specifics in reply when I get a chance. Thanks for the crossword Disco. Favourites for me were 7a, 12a, 13a, 22a, 23a, 3d, 15d. I'm still relatively new to setting myself so take my advice with a pinch of salt but I might have some thoughts which could be useful...

Welcome, Disco. I agree with the others that there is some excellent stuff here - my favourites were 7a, 13a, 20a, 22a, 5d, 8d (a brilliant spot), 16d. I agree with the criticisms that have been made about 8a, 10a, 14d and 19d. A few further spoilery comments in reply; but really for a first effort this is pretty decent.
