Fun, with quirky surfaces. 17a tickled me and I liked 26a and 27a. 29a is smart, 21d reads well and 1d’s “imitating” is lovely. Tiny non-niggles to follow …

Lovely stuff, Baldur! Particularly liked 1a, 13a, 15a, 27a, 3d, 5d, 14d, 19d, 21d, 23d; but that doesn't mean I disliked the others. Great fun.

Been a while since we've seen one of yours, Baldur. I am late to this and will not repeat the comments already made (other than to ask whether the second 's in 1a is actually necessary? Would make for a smoother read without? Nice solid puzzle, not too tricky other than 16d/24a/20d which were my last three. When the penny dropped for the first, the other two followed - I lack the GK for the second and didn't spot the device - which I like a lot - in 20d. 13a, 22a and 18d also. Thanks. PM

Thanks Baldur, another 'latecomer' who enjoyed this quite a bit. I needed your notes to parse 4a, 1d, and 7d but all else made sense. I had many favourites including the much discussed 1a, 13a, 19a, 27a, 16d, 18d, 19d, and 21d.

Thanks, Baldur. I liked this a lot. Needed a few reveals but I was able to parse them all after staring at them for a while - 4a the hardest clue here I think. Favourites 10a, 22a, 27a, 1d, 7d, 18d and 23d...

I’m playing catchup and see that I’m already one Baldur behind 🙃 but glad I caught up with this one, lots of fun. Thanks!
