Cryptic crossword No 2,050

This seems to be your first on here, Hawkins, and a fine debut. Particularly liked 16a, 21a, 4d, 13d, 15d, 17d, 18d. 6d requires slightly obscure GK, but the wordplay is very clear so that's fine by me. 27a isn't a common expression, and I wonder if by that time you were struggling slightly to fill the grid; but that doesn't detract from a very neat piece of work. Welcome to MyC, Hawkins! This was a lovely bit of fun; my metaphorical ticks went against 11a, 12a, 21a, 2d, 3d, 7d & 22d, but you had a good standard of cluing throughout. My sole niggle is with 17d, where I think there's a part-of-speech mismatch ("lack of sense" feels nounal, as opposed to e.g. "lacking sense"), and yet that didn't stop me solving the clue so I can't really complain. Thanks for sharing!
