Thanks Gillafox, I think this is your best set of clues so far. I wouldn't exactly classify this as 'Quiptic' but that may reflect my own solving ability. In any event my top picks were 5a, 10a, 11a, 18a, 21a, 24a, 17d, and 19d. 14d didn't quite work for me but that's a minor quibble in a very good crossword.

Thanks for this puzzle! The downs unlocked it for me. 11a was brilliant. Loved it. Also enjoyed 12d, 9a, and 16d, which made me smile but not too sure about the link to the second word. Struggled with 14d, and a genuine (novice) question: in 19d is 'up' doing double duty, or is there a typo? Thanks for putting this up, though, I enjoyed it.

Thanks Gillafox. Looks like I managed to miss you extra-difficult one. This was not *quite*what I'd call a quiptic. I certainly did not race through it and some were decidedly tricky - partly wavelength. I had several I particularly liked including 7a, 15a, 22a, 12d and 19d (COTD). Thanks. PM
