Cryptic crossword No 2,296

Hi Longy. Nice to see you back. Another accomplished puzzle with lots of jumping around to be done in following your instructions. All there in the end apart from 25d and 18d which I just could not see. Faves inc 1a (despite your comments in Anno's!), 10a, 13a, 19a, 26a (ha ha), 28a, 3d, 6d, 7d (splendid surface!) and 17d. I find myself, not for the first time, largely agreeing with PM. Toadyish, I know! Cos I liked 1a too. And I didn’t mind 9a’s “tabard” at all. 11a, 26a, 28a and 7d were all smilers. Spoilers (ish) …

Lots of fun , I like charades or Legos that click click click together. I also liked 1a (FOI) and 1d - neat picture and clever device even though the word was unfamiliar . A few maybe spoilery thoughts …

Great stuff Longyfan! 7d the standout for me with its wonderful surface. 1a is very clever too (and to me not particularly convoluted). I also particularly liked 5a, 15a, 20a, 25a (which I did suss out after a bit of effort!), 28a, 1d and 16d, but there are plenty of other great clues too.
