Encountering a puzzle again after a longish while is, for me, like rereading a favourite novel - some has been forgotten and is encountered like new, some is recognised with a smile, like an old friend. Nina helped a lot here and the cleverness of your surfaces always delights. 9a, 19a & 26a, 21d & 22d are standouts, while the thematic 12d & 17a slay me. Bravo!

Thank Shorty for the gentle fun. I had many favourites including 6a, 7a, 9a, 18a, 27a, 3d, 16d, and 24d. Nice job on the smooth surfaces. More in reply.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, took me about 25 minutes, so complex enough to be entertaining, without sending me to the brink of insanity. 26 was my favourite, took far too long for the penny to drop
