Cryptic crossword No 2,576

A great crossword with inventive ideas and great surfaces. My only dislike was 6a. 12d, 22d, 14a and 3d were very good, but my fav of the week in all cryptics is 19d, simple yet superb! Thanks.

A lot of this was excellent. The first five clues are pretty great, I'd say. Also enjoyed 14a, 4d, 19d, 21d. A few quibbles. 13d is cute but IMO too vague to stand alone: would work better as the def in a clue with WP to confirm it I think. At 17a, "<hidden fodder> in <definition>" is the wrong way around: actually it's the answer or def which can be found in the fodder.

Really enjoyed this. I found it challenging without being overwhelmed. Learned some new words too (15d). As others have said 19d is a thing of joy.
