In a bizarre coincidence I've just used a picture of 27d for my most recent effort! I enjoyed much of this: 13a, 20a and 24a were my favourites. A few observations in the comments.

Thanks Phaedrus - I missed today's Cryptic Sunday stream, but this was an enjoyable puzzle. I particularly enjoyed 12a, 30a, 32a, and 29d. Some extra thoughts below.

Wow, that required some jumps to the left! Hard to pick favourites as nearly all made me smile, but 9a,16a,24a and 4d,8d,16d,19d, 28d stand out

Welcome on board and bravo for letting Cryptic Sunday live solve a debut! Big cojones! πŸ˜† Some really nice wordplay in here and there's clearly some natural overlap between writing jokes and writing crossword clues. My podium was 12a, 8d and 22d. If you're in the market for constructive critique, in the reply are some observations along the lines of Things I Wish People Had Told Me When I Started... (if you're not, just don't read the reply 😁)

Yep, this was fun – and bold. I won't repeat what others have said already. I would just add that panache is the tricky bit, and you've clearly got that in spades. Cryptic grammar is a doddle by comparison. It's worth knowing even if you then choose to ignore it. I certainly often do! Looking forward to your next one.
