Cryptic crossword No 2,714

Thanks Spuggy for a very good crossword. My top picks were 10a, 12a, 28a (definition), 9d, 17d, and 23d. Even though I thought the surface of 23d could use some work, the wordplay was just too funny not to include it. I couldn't parse 5a for obvious reasons & I never found dictionary support for 26a. All in all, quite enjoyable.

An enjoyable solve, with just the right amount of groans at the humorous clues - 1a and 29a setting the tone nicely!
