Cryptic crossword No 2,755

This is the first crossword I've put up anywhere since my student newspaper days - longer ago than I'd like - so all feedback, and especially constructive criticism, is extremely welcome. Apologies in advance for any overly elaborate clues (I'm not good at killing my darlings) and any other infelicities.

Thanks Milo. This was on the difficult side for me & I ended up revealing 1a, 5a, and 4d. Mostly, I thought the clues were sound, but, as you suggested, some of the surfaces could have used a bit of streamlining. My faves were 15a, 21a, 3d, 18d, 21d (good surface!), and 25d.
