Thanks Invicta, I found this very enjoyable. Lots of great clues, notably 13a, 17a, 24a, 25a, 1d, 7d, 23d, 26d. I learned a new word in 4d. A couple more observations below…

In 6d the word ‘otherwise’ seems redundant, however it may help the surface. As it says regarding hidden clues in the Clue Clinic: ‘The hiding place should contain only words which contribute to the answer.’ The Spoonerism in 19a is nice but not grammatically correct I think: ‘took loo’ would equate with ‘stole toilet’ (‘Resort to Spooner’s nicked toilet’ would overcome that…)

A similar pedant’s gripe with 20d: for me, ‘urinating’ is peeING, not ‘pees’ (‘ In the morning (‘AM’) King enters, urinates and gets measure of flow rate’…?) All the best!

Hi Sisyphus. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for the feedback. It's very much appreciated.

Some nice incentive ideas and I particularly liked 17a, 21a, 22a, 21d, 26d but a few issues from a more conventional perspective...
