Thanks Beak, nicely done theme-wise (I can confirm absolutely no knowledge required!) and some pleasingly tricky clues - faves include 9a, 14a, 25a, 27a, 2d and my COTD (for the eventual "d'oh!") 16d. Spoilers ...
