Cryptic crossword No 3,560

My goodness, what a puzzle. Clocking the theme early makes a lot of clues easy as you go along, but stopping to appreciate the construction, I really liked 10a, 22a (&lit, nice), 24a, 5d, and 22d, but the showstopper of the bunch is 20a, in which the wordplay reference back to 6 is absolutely inspired.

My first go at one of yours, NBW, and it was fun! You’re certainly a very clever setter, which as a recent commenter hinted may not always, for some folk, equate with a really satisfying solve, however much the wordplay might be admired. For me, the really good and satisfying clues in this puzzle were 12a, 13a, 21d, 22d, & 23d. Many others nearly made it, and I’ll try and clarify that below. Thank you!
