Cryptic crossword No 3,578

Thanks Gennaro for this gentle launch into a new week- though the nina was hard to make out despite me guessing it early! I enjoyed all of it with my standout clues being 8a, 20a, 17d and 24d. Your trademark formula never disappoints!

Very nice, and right up my alley in skill level! Nina was gettable and helped a tad through my solve. Some of my favorites include 8a, 29a, 17d, and 24d

The last ones in were that beautiful mixture of utter bafflement yielding to delight as the tricky wordplay finally made sense. Lots of lovely devices and nice little stories. Faves include 7a,9a,14a and 4d,5d,10d,17d. And Nina arrived early enough to supply the needed final push. Thanks for never disappointing your many fans!
