Cryptic crossword No 420

Welcome to mycrossword Misfiles. I enjoyed this and thought several clues were excellent. I Iiked 1A (with one caveat) 18A, 20A, 22A, 14D, 16D and 19D. Spoilers in reply.

Hi Misfiles. If this is a first/early attempt then well done you for putting yourself out there. Some creative thinking shown here and some clues, imho, are right in the ballpark. 7a, 22a, 25a, 14d, 19d are all pretty solid. Blah gives good advice: you do need support for your single letters - either an accepted abbreviation (there are lists) like b for black or an indicator like 'first of' or 'initially'. Thanks Misfiles, I enjoyed solving this and there are lots of good ideas on show. Blah and PostMark have said it regarding the single letters and the parts of speech mismatches, but that aside, I like the way you have broken down the solutions into wordplay elements. In particular I liked 12a, 18a, 24a, 6d, 14d and 16d.
