19d is fabulous. 17d elicited a massive groan ... very cheeky.

Nice to see you here! I especially liked 15d, 23a, and 5d. The penny's only just dropped on 17d, and I agree with Skirwingle!

Genuinely can't decide whether to applaud or punch you for 17D. Couple of spoilers in reply

Really like 23a, 19d and 22d. 17d - well, what the others have said!

Very nice. Really well crafted with plenty of wit as well as lateral thinking. As well as those already highlighted, I enjoyed 3d and 11d. And 17d deserves the plaudits it's getting. One minor spoiler in reply.

Very enjoyable crossword, 7up - lots of fun and inventive wordplay. Favourites for me were 23a, 1d, 11d, 15d, 19d. And what everyone else said about 17d.

What others have said. Took me ages to work out 17d but having done so I agree that it’s brilliant. Other favourites 13a (how true, having visited a motorway services over the weekend), 23a, 7d and 19d. Still don’t get 16d and would welcome annotated solutions, but generally this was one of the most enjoyable puzzles for ages. Thanks.

Mixed bag for me 7upislemonade. Some really clever and enjoyable clues 9a, 13a, 18a,19a, 3d, 7d, 11d & 28d. Some others have left me scratching my head, even when I've solved them. But overall, the enjoyment outweighs the puzzlement, so well done. Spoilers in reply

I can't add much to what's already been said. It took me about 20 minutes to get from working out what 17D was to getting the parsing - fortunately I am also fond of massive groans at least some of the time, so I look forward to seeing more!
