Cryptic crossword No 583

Thanks for the puzzle, Chill. The theme isn't the most familiar to me and it'd be great to have annotations to fully appreciate your clues, but you've made quite a solid set, well done. I particularly liked 9a (neat), 22a, 26a, 16d and 23d.
