Thanks Maya - found that tough, until spotting the very nicely worked theme ... when it became just-a-little-less tough! ...

I revealed 26a. Very neat!

Thanks again for the comments, I'm afraid I don't have time to annotate as well* but I'm happy to explain specific clues (or apologise for them as the case may be). I see you worked out what I was going on about with the "companion to a different 32" - 38a actually has no wordplay, but I'd still say it's fairly cryptic! (All's fair, etc? :-) *or even to do many other crosswords, much as I'd like to.

Clever and enjoyable; and gettable even for one who had forgotten most of what he once knew about "Gerry-built creations". Particular favourites 11a, 24a (a clever clue for a short word is always impressive), 5d (which initially I thought was "too-clever-by-half" but the theme means it's really neat), 22d and 24d (both of which I've only just understood - very nicely done). Annotated solutions would assist, though I suppose their absence made me keep working at 22d and 24d and get the "A-ha!"s

Fab!

Great working of a theme! I got the theme after three clues (something of a record for me) and it helped a lot. 3d and 5d in particular made me smile, both very cleverly done. Shame about no annotations as I like to check parsings without publicly revealing which ones I struggled on! 😁 I’ll now go back and stare at the unparsed ones until they give in!
