Cryptic crossword No 813

Thank you for the entertaining puzzle. Favourites were 1a and 13d. Had to consult your notes to fully unravel 10a.

Thanks for the lovely puzzle Alf, lovely succinct and creative clueing here - I particularly liked 6a (smooth), 12a (clean), 14a (neat), 15a (nice), 19a (very neat), 24a (neat, nice def), 28a (nice assembly), 2d (neat), 3d (very clean), 4d (neat), 5d (very neat), 6d (fun, wonder if you could've got away with "Suitable!"), 7d (great fun), 13d (nice), 17d (fun all ways round), 18d (neat), 20d (neat) and 21d (clean) - thanks again!
