Hopefully gently clued, as this themes's a little obscure. But of all of the singles I could think of most appropriate to the circumstance. The song and band in question are unlikely to be known outside the UK, and the inspiration outside of India; and the band are not exactly famous! So kudos for the those who tackle and solve.

Fab! Like JeremysIron I got this pretty quickly as it's a favourite of mine 😁 and it certainly raised a smile here. Just to add, in a non-spoilery way, that JI's final comment is correct and your preamble could do with a slight edit!
