Thanks ConManAU, nice to present an "entry level" puzzle. Favourites 10a, 5d, 7d & 15d. Whilst there's plenty of simple stuff (e.g. 1a's nice anagram, the straightforward 13a, and use of direct homophones in 16a & 19a) I'm not sure I'd recommend this to a *complete* beginner for a variety of spoilery reasons ...

Hi CM (it was the AU bit that caught my eye…). Nothing wrong with a beginner-focused puzzle and I found satisfaction in solving it sitting in the Tassie sunshine a couple of days ago, but like Fez found myself a bit concerned that a raw beginner would stumble trying to parse some of the clues presented. As Fez suggested, and I always recommend too, using the annotated solutions facility is very helpful in understanding the setter’s intent. I appreciated 1a, 12a, 13a, 17a, 3d, 6d & 7d. Spoilers…
