Quick crossword No 398

As usual with your grids, mostly plain sailing and some fun surfaces. I oversupplied the specialist knowledge again and spent some time wondering whether anyone would hyphenate 'root user'. Mild critiques: 'hush' in 20d gives quite a bit away, and 'act' in 15d seems quite loose. (My reaction may be coloured by the time I spent trying to get 'animate' to work in there.)

Excellently pitched difficulty level but no less entertaining for that. Especially liked 8a,14a,24a, 2d,6d,10d
