Thanks Galviana. I found this fairly accessible despite not being a QC alumnus. My favourite was 16d. In fairness to other solvers the enumeration for 3d should be (2,6).

Thanks Galviana, I'm not a Cambridge alumnus either (never had the brains) but the fair and gentle(ish) clueing made this a nice solve, and a very well worked and comprehensive theme. It did bring back some memories though, not of 3d, but 50 years ago I was rather partial to black forest gateau from what I think was The Copper Kettle on King's Parade, so thanks for that. Favourites 15a, 1d and (like Cheeseman) my top clue was 16d. Hope your QC friends enjoy the gift
