This crossword would have been a disaster without the splendid feedback and coaching from PM. I'm certain that there will still be weaknesses because I'm too stubborn to take good advice, but I hope you like it.

Very good HA! I found this pretty tricky - significantly more difficult than your previous offering. Loads to like, my favourites being 10a, 13a, 28a, 2d (now I've seen your notes to understand the parse!), 15d, 21d and 23d (which I got despite it being a NHO, so that's a thumbs up from me on the wordplay). Spoilers...

Thanks for a most satisfying puzzle HA, really lovely stuff. A good sense of fun throughout and I enjoyed working through each clue. Particular favourites were 10a (fun and smooth), 12a (very neat), 13a (clean), 20a (tricky and clever), 22a (nice def), 28a (neat), 3d (nice), 6d (fun), 7d (neat), 8d (nice construction), 15d (clean), 19d (clean), 23d (nho but satisfyingly gettable), 24d (no problem with 1 word Spooner's personally, this was fun) and 26d (cute) - thanks again!

Very nice piece of work HA. I'd agree it was a tad tougher than your last but I enjoyed doing it and there was plenty to smile at. Particular favourites included: 10a, 12a, 16a, 19a, 25a, 2d, 5d, 8d, 15d and 26d. Thanks. PM

Thanks! Liked this a lot, especially 22a, 2d and 6d (COTD for me!). Not wholly sure about 20a, that I got from the definition and crossers but raised an eyebrow on the wordplay! More in reply —>
