Thanks PM, top stuff ... with a theme that I somehow completely missed, even though I was sure there'd be one given the grid design (have you been playing with some new software?) Favourites 9a, 12a, 18a, 29a, 1d, 3d, 13d, 14d, 30d & 31d. Thanks again!

Nice work PM - wasn't quite on the wavelength for all clues (drawing a blank?!) but those that did fall into place did so very satisfyingly. Favourites included 19a, 23a, 32a, 1d, 4d, 13d, and 28d. Thanks.

Hi PM It looks like I'm an outlier here as this was your toughest yet for me and I had to resort to copious reveals. I can always recognise the skill and creativity of your output but this was, for the most part, beyond my solving abilities I'm afraid. Spoilers...

Thanks PM - a couple of parses were beyond me in the end (and the annos confirm it was my knowledge that was lacking!), although I successfully filled the grid even without spotting the theme. 32a is a cracker, and other faves included 1d, 5d, and 10d.

One of your best yet in my opinion — super surfaces and for about 70% of it I was on a wavelength roll, then ground to a halt in the last stretch… but eventually dragged it over the line without any reveals 💪 Faves: 1a, 9a, 18a, 32a (COTW), 2d, 3d, 10d, 13d and 27d. Spoilers —>

Really top stuff PM, had lots of fun with this one and glad to get on your wavelength despite my rustiness! That didn't stop me missing the theme however, though thoroughly enjoyed spotting the rest of the words after spotting what was going on from the first few annotations once solved. Lots to love, particularly 1a (very neat), 19a (fun and neat), 21a (satisfying), 23a (very smooth), 25a (fun), 32a (delightful), 33a (smooth), 1d (delightful), 3d (very neat, fun), 5d (smooth), 6d (likewise)...

This was the second puzzle that Postmark submitted at the recent S&B event at Nottingham. Once again, smooth surfaces and a number of short clues which are usually fun to sort out. 27d was particularly 'good'. With half the puzzle solved, Joyce left Bert to finish it on his own. On returning, there were a number that had circles round parts of the clue (a sign that we are stumped) or the odd question mark which made us think that this was harde
