Thanks Amoeba for the treat. I liked 10a, 25a, 17d, 20d, 21d, and 23d. I hadn't heard of 9a and 28a and I wasn't sure about the parsing of 18d. Spoiler in reply.

I'm another who would appreciate Annotations, Amoeba. I enjoyed this, though found the NW somewhat intractable at the end. Faves include 25a, 27a, 30a, 3d, 5d, 6d and 18d. Thanks. PM

Found this tough but fair! The theme was sweet to see. 9A and 28A were really groaners (the good kind). One wee note in the replies. Apologies for the double comment: I just hit post too soon.

Lovely puzzle, Amoeba, thanks. I found most of it pretty accessible although, as PM says, the NW was distinctly tricky. Favourites: 8a, 12a (despite needing annotations to parse it), 19a, 28a, 3d, 6d, 15d and 18d. Spoilers…

That was great fun Amoeba, thanks for a lovely puzzle. I had a slightly different solving experience, finding the top half going in relatively smoothly then finding more of a challenge to complete the southern hemisphere, but all went in with much satisfaction. I particularly liked 8a (neat), 10a (neat), 12a (very neat, fun surface), 13a (satisfying), 27a (cute surface), 28a (nice PDM), 29a (tricky and neat), 30a (very nice), 6d (smooth construction, fun), 14d (neat), 17d (neat), 18d (very neat)
