Blancheflower-esque indeed - lots of fun here, with the NE putting up a bit of resistance. Favourites included 12a, 18a, 24a, 25d, and 29d.

Great stuff, but I'm going to be a bit of an outlier on the diffilculty, Fez. I didn't find it at all Blancheflower-esq (assuming my understanding of that as 'gentler' is correct) - an observation rather than criticism, though. Beautiful clueing as ever, some faves being 10a, 21a, 23a 27a, 32a, 1d, 6d, 14d, 15d. Spoilers...
