Cryptic crossword No 1,839

Splendid puzzle Iguess. I really enjoyed this. Certainly approachable but no more so than two of the GIFTs I've done today. I liked the tightness of the cluing and plenty of the surfaces read smoothly. Congrats. Faves inc 5a, 10a, 16a, 23a, 26a, 29a, 3d, 4d, 8d, 13d and 20d. Thanks. PM

Thanks Iguess, that was enjoyable and very clever throughout. I particularly enjoyed and admired 14a, 26a, 28a, 30a, 5d, 6d, 13d among others. I had to solve in two passes, but many of the ones that fell into place second pass gave great pleasure as they did so. A few minor queries in reply, spoilers…

Great stuff Iguess, thanks. I can only really echo the positive comments of OzP and PM. I found the NW quite tricky, needing a bit of crossword solver help. Favourites: 12a, 23a, 26a, 28a, 3d, 6d, 13d and 18d.
