Cryptic crossword No 187

Thanks, Piper and welcome! Nice theme. In combination with a grid where 7 clues had more than half their letters unchecked (and me being a mediocre solver) I found it very tricky and had to resort to the reveal button at the end. Quite a few I can’t parse. Favourite clues: 10A (didn’t know but got it from wordplay), 23A, 4D (ingenious use of theme) and 18D.

Thanks Piper, I enjoyed this a lot. A fun theme and lots of nice ideas amongst the clues. Favourites were 7d, 17a, 24a, 20d and 25d. Spoilers below

A big thank you to Coot and Meles for the very helpful feedback, and apologies as 10ac should have had a definition - I don’t know how that slipped through the net! You have picked up a couple of the clues that I struggled with, which has taught me to spend more time choosing the theme words to ensure they lend themselves to good clues.
