Thanks PostMark for a fun puzzle. I made fairly serene progress with this with only the NE peninsula providing resistance. I'll choose 11a, 13a, 17a (well spotted), 22a and 17d as favourite clues from a fine selection.

Thanks PostMark. This was a slow solve for me (not a complaint) but everything eventually fell into place albeit with some parsing questions. I enjoyed many clues including 1a, 14a (nice surface), 21a, 22a, 30a, 7d, and 27d (COTD). More in reply.

Good surfaces. Lots to like, so hard to pick a favourite. The change noted re 16d was definitely a good choice.
