Cryptic crossword No 2,000

Thanks Gennaro. All plain sailing until I hit 6d, which stumped me and seemed quite a bit harder than the others. Liked 19a, 27a and 1d

A real joy Gennaro. 1d went in straight away which helped a lot. 6d was LOI but with all the checkers it was reachable and I was able to admire the wordplay. The occasional write in (22a, 26a) also gratefully received. Faves were 11a, 17a, 4d and 16d.

So after the impersonator, the real thing is back! Another fun puzzle where the SI pointers helped me make headway partway through the solve. A few obscurities but all ultimately doable without reveals. Liked 11a, 12a, 8d and 20d. Spoilery comments overleaf ->

Hi Gennaro. I'm a bit late to this and in catch up mode. So it was nice to find this relatively plain sailing. A couple of tricky ones amongst the first half dozen down clues to which I had to return but everything else went in on the first run through which is a very enjoyable experience. Your theme was unveiled in time to be useful - esp with those early ones. All nicely clued; just a couple of quibbles picked up by others. Faves inc 19a, 23a, 1d, 7d, 18d and 20d Thanks. PM
