Huge thanks to @Fez, who not only did a live test-solve of this puzzle but also did it on camera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5UCCWQw0V0 Fez was an amazing help, and I hope you'll take a look some time. Thanks again, Fez!

Good fun tpg, thanks. I enjoyed the creativity and amusing surfaces. The odd eyebrow twitch but I’ll hold off on any quibbles until I’ve watched Fez’s test-solve! I tend to prefer the more succinct clues, hence favourites include: 13a, 17a, 20a, 23a, 6d, 7d and 16d.

20a was my favourite, very clever!

Curiosity got the better of me and in the end I watched the whole test-solve rather than solving it myself, though I did try to follow along clue-by-clue (and in a couple of instances even got the answer before Fez 😆) but what an absolutely fascinating watch that was, bravo both of you 👏

Very entertaining – puzzle and vid. Great to discover that Fez looks exactly as a crack crossword man should. Straight out of central casting! So, double fun here. 20a is indeed crackerjack. And 10a is fun. I know, all too well, how surprisingly difficult that is to clue. Super little stories throughout. I did think 17a's surface a tad odd. But I see that big boy Coot marked that as a favourite, so I stand down! Hats off fella.

Thanks tpg, that was fun. My picks included 10a, 14a, 20a, 25a, 7d, and 21d. I needed your notes to understand 11a. Overall this crossword shows a lot of progress. More in reply.
