Cryptic crossword No 2,332

A pleasant early morning workout - always a good day when you post a puzzle. 10a made me smile, very clever! The surface of 14a was very pleasing, and while that hint didn't reveal the hidden extra to me, I did deduce it from the letters I already had in time to gain a bit of help. Thanks Gennaro. Very nice and pleasantly straightforward with your habitual nina to boot (not sure if 14a has any relevance though!). For me 6a, 12a, 22a, 26a, 9d and 17d earned strong ticks but others too. Nicely done!

Like Fez I both recognised and very much appreciated the theme 😁 I got 14a early on but needed quite a few words in the grid to see the Other Thing. 10a is my CotD, made me do a real-life LOL 😆 and that doesn't happen very often - plenty of other nice clues too. Late to this one Gennaro, finished it but almost didn't make comment as it's verging on ancient history - as far as this site is concerned anyhow... I particularly appreciated 10a, 13a, 2d, 3d, 9d, among others. Didn't get the connection between 14a and your trademark device, but that didn't hold things up unduly. A few references new to me (e.g. in 5d) clues a bit convoluted or loose-ish (e.g. 11a), but I can't talk... I'm not doing many on this site at present, but always look out for yours.
