Cryptic crossword No 2,502

I missed last week's stream, but I wasn't confused for too schlong. Lots of fun, with my favourite probably 23d, close followed by 15a and 8d.

Thanks Coot. This was on the challenging end of the spectrum for me mostly due to my lack of GK which seemed necessary to solve and/or parse a number of solutions. However, I found much to like including 13a, 15a, 20a, 1d, 16d, 23d, and 25d, especially the latter which seems to be popping up in crosswords of late -- I hope to continue that trend 🙂 More in reply.
