Cryptic crossword No 305

Wonderful. 16a, 20a, 2d, 6d (the star of the show), 14d, 17d - really entertaining solve.

Thanks Newington, that’s quite a puzzle! Lots of very clever clues although a number defeated me. I found the left-hand side much more difficult than the right. Particularly liked 15A (having seen the explanation), 16A (lovely - a QM might help given the whimsy?), 19A (very neat), 2D (excellent) and 14D (super disguise). Spoilers in reply.
