Very clever indeed, laughed uproariously at 9D, suspect our younger audience may not get it until they read the annotations. Too many to list favourites and don't think I can fault your cryptic grammar anywhere. I was enjoying it too much to even think of being picky. Thanks for a thoroughly entertaining solve.

Really nice, also loved 9d. Found the bottom half much easier than the top

Really nice puzzle, but I wouldn't have got 9D in a million years. That shouldn't take away from a great clue, though, for those who did see the reference.

Really super stuff Chopin, well done! I also found the bottom half easier with some quite tricky wordplay in the top half. Particularly like 7A, 24A, 1D, 4D as well as 9D (obvs!) and a lovely PDM in 5D. Only one tiny quibble in the reply.

Really cleverly done. Particular favourites 7a, 4d, 5d, 16d, 17d, 18d and of course the superb 9d. Thanks, Chopin

Phew! Got there in the end; took me a bit of pen-chewing to work out what was going on there. But "ohhhh" when the penny dropped on 9d. I liked 17d.

Lots and lots to like in this and I can see why it's attracted a goodly deal of feedback. Smooth and succinct surfaces and some very neat twists. Apart from the ones already mentioned by others, I liked 14a and 23a. 18a very clever, 5d sublime, 9d deserves its praise but fave is 12a. Cracking good stuff, Chopin.

Took a couple of goes but this was good fun and some clever ideas like 5d and the build up to 9d. I really liked 18d, 10a and 19a

Fantastic. 9d, 2d, 4d, 5d, 19a were the favourites, but all was brilliant.

Lovely stuff, Chopin. A very nicely balanced variety of clue types and difficulty level - a few easy ones, some that made me work a bit harder. The mark of a good clue for me is when you can be looking at it scratching your head, but when the penny drops, you are 100% sure of the answer, and that was true of several here - 12a being my absolute favourite. A few others I particularly liked: 13a, 19a, 23a, 4d, 8d, 15d. I had a few very minor quibbles but honestly nothing I think worth mentioning.

Great stuff Chopin. Liked the 9d device very much but overall really well clued with some good old surfaces
