Pleasant end to the weekend. Thanks, Gollum.

Hi Gollum. Some very nice clueing in here and I really enjoyed myself down in the South with 23a, 28a and 21d which is particularly lovely. Other ticks for 15a, 19a, 17d and the delightful 1d. A definite smile at 2d which is cheeky. 😊 A couple of comments in reply. SPOILERS IN REPLY.

Thanks Gollum. I found this enjoyable with an interesting mix of clues to navigate. I'll pick out 20a, 28a (fully appreciated once I'd seen the parsing), 1d (nice misdirection with adapting), 17d and 25d

Very nice, Gollum. You've got some really interesting and inventive clues here - I thought 28a was especially clever. Also ticked 10a (superb spoonerism!), 20a, 23a, 1d, 4d (horrible word but nicely clued). Further comment in reply...

Thanks, Gollum - good fun with plenty of trademark groan-worthy homophones! I tend to agree with others’ comments about some of them but any wrinkles didn’t really get in the way of working them out. I particularly liked 10A, 15A, 20A, 1D, and 25D. A couple of slightly quibbly spoilers in reply.
