Hi there, Cheeseman. I think this might be your first on here? In which case, welcome to MyC and congratulations on a super debut puzzle. Lots of variety, good logic and grammar, decent surfaces. Well done. (And, if you've been setting for years, apologies for appearing patronising!). Favourites in this include: 11/13a, 12a, 16a, 25a, 3d, 4d, 6d, 22d. But no reason not to tick several others; generally an all round enjoyable solve. Many thanks. PM.

Hello & welcome Cheeseman! Like PostMark, I enjoyed this a lot. Favourites included 6d, 7d, 14d, and 23a, where I was undoubtedly helped by recalling an old round of 'budget films' on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue... Hope to see you here again.

Welcome to the site Cheeseman and congratulations on a really good debut MyC puzzle. Lots to admire and enjoy in here with particular favourites being 11A 13A (although I had to cheat slightly!), 23A, 24A, 1D, 6D and 15D. Minor spoiler in reply.

Lots to like here Cheeseman, with a good variety of devices, some quite ingenious. I particularly admired 10a, 12a, 22a, 1d, 6d & 22d. Some tougher or less elegant ones, but overall very enjoyable. More please.

Wow! Thank you everyone. I've got a big smile on my face now!

Cheeseman, very nice - clever, amusing and correct. Well done. I liked it best when you didn't overstretch: you had wit and challenge to spare, but a few clues might have asked too much of the solver when taken in isolation (hello 14d). The warm congratulations from the site elders are well deserved.

Welcome, Cheeseman, and thank you for a very enjoyable puzzle. Particular favourites 12a, 19a and the gloriously outrageous 13a, but I don't think there's a duff clue in the puzzle anywhere. 3d involved an unfamiliar word, but the word play was so clear that this didn't matter.

Thanks Cheeseman, this was fun to solve. Plenty of good clues, I'll pick out 12a, 24a, 1d, 5d, 7d and 17d as favourites but not much drop off in quality beyond those.
