Cryptic crossword No 497

That was good fun Leucine, thanks. A nice level of difficulty for me and lots of interesting surfaces. Thought some of the anagrams were excellent. I’ll pick 14A, 18A, 4D, 15D and 22D as favourites.

A gentle and enjoyable solve Leucine, with some clever clues - I admired 1A, 23A, 26A, 25A, 4D(!) & 20D in particular. The anagrams were good, although there seemed to be a lot of them, meaning perhaps less opportunity to include a wider variety of clue types. But not to sound unduly negative - more please!
