The theme is a bit of my history so please ignore as it won't influence your solution of the crossword. If interested continue.....

Thanks for a lovely puzzle Jugular, really enjoyed the personal theme and impressed at the scope of your career - incredibly cool! Fez has covered any quibbles I might have had far more precisely than I could, but nothing to detract from a very enjoyable solve with particular favourites being 5a (satisfying construction), 11a (neat), 25a (likewise), 28a (nice construction), 1d (neat), 3d (likewise), 5d (fun), 17d (nice construction), 19d (clean), 24d (clever), 29d (neat) and 31d (nho but nicely

Thanks jugular - fantastic to include so much of your personal history in one puzzle, and what a history it is! Not the best solver, I found this pretty tough with some obscurities getting the better of me. But lots of great clues to enjoy with particularly favourites: 15A, 25A, 28A, 19D, 21D and 22D.

Well done, jugular. Lots of nice surfaces in here and the wordplay seems pretty solid. Favourites included 10a (witty), 15a (lovely surface - COTD), 28a (nice construction - odd surface!), 35a (I shouldn't like this but it did make me smile!), 6d (though surely no Aussie political figure would be associated with beer?), 13d (neat), 17d (nice surface), 19d (ditto). Spoilers in reply. Thanks. PM
