Cryptic crossword No 878

Thanks for the puzzle Glynos, some lovely clues in here! Apologies for the late comment, this took a few sessions to solve but glad I stuck it out. I particularly liked 9a (smooth use of an interesting device), 21a (very smooth, neat), 22a (fun), 4d (neat), 15d (very neat), 17d (nice), 25d (neat) and 30d (not 100% sold on the indicator but nice spot)...

Well done, Glynos. I enjoyed this a lot with the tighter cluing and stronger surfaces. Favourites include 8a, 18a, 21a, 22a, 32a (COTD), 1d (despite sirdakka's comment which is prob fair) , 4d, 7d, 17d, 27d and 30d for chutzpah. More like this please. Thanks and Merry Christmas. PM

Nice one glynos! I’m very late to the party but glad I turned up eventually. Found it tougher than your previous puzzles, I think - particular the right hand side, but that is no criticism. Lots of very nice clues, my favourites being 8A,16A, 20A, 22A, 1D (COTD), 14D and 19D.

Hi glynos, I had a couple left to finish on this, and have just come back to it. Found this an enjoyable challenge - quite tough for me - but rewardedi the perseverance. I loved 8a, great surface and precise instructions. I also particularly enjoyed 29d (more in the following comment to spare my blushes) 16a 1d 20a and 19d.
